Welcome to the Mentor’s Page
We are excited to work with you for the 2019 – 2020 School Year
Who are we?
We are the Mentors of WESMOR Public High School. Our names are Mr. Cory Opoonechaw and Mr. Thomas Crain.
We are located in The Student Support Services in Room 20.
What We Do:
We support our Grade 12 students in succeeding in their final year in High School. We also assist in preparing them for Post-Secondary Planning.
What is Post-Secondary Planning? It is anything and everything after high school. Whether it’s attending College, University and/or going straight into the work force.
Post-Secondary planning can be a confusing process as well as intimidating for a student. But with careful planning, and having the proper supports, every student can be successful.
We would love to hear from parents with the process of helping students plan for their future.
Also included with supporting grade 12 students, we have an open door policy for every student at Wesmor. We do not turn students away. We have a wide variety of students who come in and request direction for obtaining Identification Cards, Resume building, Job Search, Mock Interviews, and referring students to appropriate agencies within the community.
If you have any more questions in regards to what we do, please do not hesitate to contact us at the school. Just call 306-764-5233 and ask for the Mentors.
Mother’s lunch is an event hosted by the Wesmor Teen Faciltiy Centre Daycare, in partnership with the Mentor Program.Liz Settee is the facilitator of the Mother’s Lunch and it will be held in Room 20 every Thursday at 11:15. The Mother’s lunch is geared towards the parents who utilize the Daycare. Room providing, we invite other mothers within the school and those who are expecting. If you have any questions about the Lunch, please stop by the daycare or the Student Support Services Room.
